Ultimate Sausage Sandwich

The Ultimate Sausage Sandwich is a classic lunchtime favourite made with two thick pork sausages, one egg, and two thick slices of bread. The sausages are grilled until they have a nice, crispy texture and are cooked through. The egg is cooked sunny side up in the same pan, giving it a nice golden hue. The two thick slices of bread are lightly toasted and spread with a little butter. The sausages and egg are then placed on top of one slice of the bread and the other slice is placed on top. The sandwich is then cut in half and is ready to be enjoyed. The savoury flavour of the sausages, combined with the creamy egg yolk and the crunchy texture of the toasted bread makes for a truly delicious and satisfying meal.

Cooking Instructions

Preheat the grill to medium. Place the sausages on a grill rack and cook for 20 minutes, turning occasionally, until brown all over and cooked through.

While they cook, spread the slices of bread with tomato ketchup or any other favourite sauce.

Remove the sausages from the grill and set aside. Heat the oil in a frying pan and crack in the egg, fry until the white is set and golden around the edges and the yolk is cooked to your liking.

While the egg cooks slice the sausages in half lengthways.

Place the sausages on top of a slice of bread, top with the fried egg then the second slice of bread, cut in half and serve immediately.
